Description:

The Voynich manuscript has been studied by many professional and amateur cryptographers, including American and British codebreakers from both the First and Second World Wars. The manuscript has never been demonstrably deciphered, and the mystery of its meaning and origin has excited the popular imagination, making it the subject of novels and speculation. This presentations explores the background behind the manuscript and its cryptic features. It is also followed by the presentation "A Short Case for Forgery”, given by Richard SantaColoma, exploring the possibility of the Voynich Manuscript being a forgery. This is included in the recording.
