Ryan Pierce

Country:
United States
Bio:

Ryan Pierce has been interested in cryptography since childhood. In the early 1990's, he was one of the early adopters of PGP among his high school classsmates. 2018 marks the beginning of his historical crypto collecting addiction, with his purchase of an M-209, soon to be followed by several other machines. He has 25 years professional experience in the financial industry, working with stock and futures exchanges and industry standards organizations. He most recently served on ISO TC 68/SC 8/WG 3 where he took a significant role in authoring parts of the ISO 24165 Digital Token Identifier standard. He is a member of several local makerspaces. This intersects with crypto collecting in that he is creating CAD designs to produce 3D printed Fialka parts and he has constructed an Enigma E kit and replica wooden case. Ryan is also a private pilot, tours nuclear history sites, has visited the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone three times, and holds an Advanced class amateur radio license. He lives in Chicago with his wife and pet snake. Ryan studies Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University.
