Bill Briere is a former professional cryptanalyst who worked for the US Department of Defense between 1986 and 1995, specialising in multilingual cryptanalysis. He intercepted, decrypted, translated, and analysed the messages of hostile parties overseas. He is also a former lecturer at the University of Wyoming, where he taught a module on "Breaking Codes and Ciphers" between 2008 and 2009. He is a classical cryptographer and an expert in recreational cryptograms.
